Thinking of Visiting?

We're so glad that you're considering visiting us at Madison Baptist Church.  We know that it's natural to feel a little uneasy when you're walking in somewhere new, so here are some of the basics about what to expect when you join us on a Sunday morning.

What's the worship like?

Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 11 a.m. each Sunday.

There is no dress code - some of our people dress up and some come in casual attire.

We'll sing several songs, there is usually a solo or choir song, we'll often have a children's sermon, and our pastor will share a sermon from the
Bible.  It usually lasts about an hour.

We have a nursery for babies and toddlers and Children's Church for elementary school kids.

We also offer a deaf interpreter during each Sunday morning worship service.

How are the sermons?

Usually about half of each service is devoted to our pastor's sermon.  Some of the things to expect:

- He is big on application - showing how the truth from the Bible applies to our daily lives.  He believes that his job is to give us practical help in living out our walk of faith.

- He puts a fill-in-the-blank sermon outline in the bulletin each week, so our people can follow along and take notes.  Our folks love this and it really helps with remembering the truth that's been shared.

- He doesn't stay behind the pulpit much! ;-)  He likes to move around, but that helps keep our attention.

Do I need to wear a tie?  Do I need to wear a dress?

You're welcome to if you'd like to, but there's no dress code at our church.  God is more interested in your heart than your clothes!

Am I expected to participate in the offering?  Our offering is an opportunity for our regular attenders to give and there is no expectation for  you to give.
